How to choose your jersey's size ?

Do you have difficulty choosing your jersey size? Are you hesitating between two jerseys sizes? Are you new to cycling and don't know how to wear your jersey? This article is made for you, it will help you to best select the size of your jersey. As a preamble, please note that this article is intended for cycling jerseys from our collections.*

How is a cycling jersey worn?

A cycling jersey is generally worn very close to the body. The cycling jersey is by nature designed to be worn like a second skin. If you are new to cycling, it is therefore normal for your jersey to fit your body shape. It is designed in this way for comfort and performance. Our products have been studied and created by cyclists for cyclists, so we find this second skin feeling on our clothing.

However,

We can imagine that some of you prefer to ride with a jersey that is looser, or as any novice would say, less “tight”. In this case, by taking the measurements from our size guide table (following), we advise you to go for a size larger than what is indicated. For example, you measure your chest circumference (90 cm). If you like to dress tight you will take a size S (92 cm) and if you like to dress looser, take the size above, M (96 cm). If in doubt between two sizes, your choice will depend on whether you want to wear a cycling jersey in a “natural” or more “loose” way. Please note, these are products that remain cut close to the body, even with a larger size.

Leader Size Guide

Based on the observation that our products fit close to the body like a second skin, we offer you the following table. It concerns our size guide. It is obviously to be taken into account when choosing your future Chef de File jersey.

Take a sewing tape measure to be able to determine the exact body measurements and thus be able to determine the size that best suits your body shape. Important measurements to take into account are your chest measurement, your waist measurement, your hip measurement and of course your height. Following these measurements you will then be able to see which bracket you are in. You may be between sizes: your choice will depend on how you like or would like to wear your cycling jersey.
You now have all the keys in your possession to best select the size of your Chef de File cycling jersey.

By the cut of our jersey, which has been designed to fit everyone's body shape, the products are unisex. We made this choice in relation to production issues but also in agreement and after having carried out tests on a female panel riding with Chef de File products.

*Regarding our gravel products, these have been designed to have a looser cut which more closely resembles sizes found in ready-to-wear. For our winter and thermal jackets, the table mentioned above must be repeated. Finally, our thermal bibshorts and tights will have their own size guide which can be found here.
