Custom: Joshua Dubau, French Elite Champion in Liévin!

The French cyclo-cross championships took place on January 8 & 9 in Liévin. A weekend of competitions that offered us entertainment, emotions (a lot of mud) and two French champion titles, including that of the premier category, the Elites!

Sensational ! From a half-hearted start, a nimble comeback in the muddy parts, a puncture that made him lose his head, until the final stretch where he was able to savor... Joshua Dubau will have made us vibrate from the first to the 58th minute of the race. At 25, he won his first title of champion of France Elites. But also the first for the Chef de File family! For Joshua it is above all a success that asserts itself as a relief:

"It was the objective of the season, already last year. Given the weather conditions, I didn't necessarily expect to be really in front, nor to be the favorite today with what I saw over these two days. But it's nice to be on the top step and finally put on the French Champion's jersey. I've been strong this season, consistent, I haven't had any slack. It may not be the ideal course but we had to fight. A jersey is never easy to get. It was the objective, it is not because the conditions are not for me that I have to let go. I had the knife between my teeth."

The Peltrax team athlete has entered a new dimension this season, dominating the French scene with no less than 9 UCI successes. And the season is not over yet for Joshua. The latest upcoming events such as the Flamanville World Cup or the Fayetteville World Cup in the USA will allow him to conclude the year by ending this cx season in style.

Double blow for Paul Seixas!

Joshua was not the only member of the Chef de File family to raise his arms this weekend in Pas-de-Calais. Paul Seixas wins the title of French junior champion, and thus achieves the double after his success last August on the road. The young wolf of VC Villefranche Beaujolais got some fright as he tells Directvélo, our post-race partner: "I have a shoe that came off, I had to stop to put it back on. I try to never tell myself that it's over, everything is always doable, but I knew it would be very hard. You had to be present mentally and technically. I told myself that I had nothing to lose, I had to go and do what I could. It functioned"

Direction the road season now for Paul, wishing him to continue to gain experience and continue on his winning streak!

Our partners have talent, more than ever thanks to them for their trust and for making us vibrate throughout the year.
